Dr. Thomas Shellhammer is the Nor’Wester Professor of Fermentation Science in the Department of Food Science and Technology at Oregon State University, where he leads the brewing science education and research programs. He is a globally recognized expert on hops and beer chemistry, flavor, and quality. Dr. Shellhammer is a past president of the American Society of Brewing Chemists, president of the District NW MBAA, a member of the board of examiners for the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, and a member of the Brewers Association’s Quality subcommittee.
