For more than 140 years, Briess has been a leader in the production of fine quality malt for beer. Today, Briess is a vertically integrated grain processor and the only malting company dedicated to producing base and specialty malts for American craft beer. To meet our quality standards, we control all aspects of our barley chain—from grower to brewer. Our growers are in premium US barley growing regions known for producing a diverse variety of highest quality barley. This year Briess adds Synergy Select Pilsen Malt to our portfolio. Our maltsters picked the unique flood-irrigated, semi-arid Bighorn Basin for its ability to grow bright, clean, low protein Synergy Barley. Individuals fields were hand selected then malted using European methods. The result is a fine North American continental Pilsen Malt, rich in flavor, high in extract and low in protein with moderate enzymes and FAN. And try our new specialty malt—Carapils® Copper Malt. This 30L version of our iconic dextrine-style malt adds body, foam retention, beer stability, flavor and color. Try 10-30% for copper to red hues, and graham cracker to complex toast/toffee flavors.
