John Mercer has more than 20 years of wastewater experience in breweries and laboratories, and was a licensed wastewater treatment plant operator in the state of Oregon from 1997 to 2014. He now owns a brewery consulting business specializing in wastewater issues, as well as an organic farm and ranch in Colorado. He worked at Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Ore. from 1998 to 2010 where he operated, maintained, and managed the appropriately nicknamed WTF (Waste Treatment Facility) at the production brewery, among many other projects.
